Over these past few weeks we have done a few festivities but I had no time to catch our blog up! So, now I will finally get to tell you all about it. First of all, two weekends ago, Jordan and I decided to go miniature golfing but it wasn't just any golf course! It was lined with lights and reindeer, snowmen, and there was even a snow machine! Then the next day, we enjoyed our first Cowboy Christmas at Rawhide. It's a old western town that gets decorated for the holidays, with a huge tree, snow machine, Santa, train rides, bonfires, etc. My sister and her family came along to enjoy the festivity. Trysta was especially excited about playing in the fake snow...I only wish we could see her with the real thing!
Now, this last weekend we made our yearly gingerbread house and celebrated Jordan's families Christmas, starting with a bunch of food, then our gift exchanges, then the best part of all the Santa Float. Some of you may be wondering about this "float" so I will explain briefly, Jordan's parents started this tradition when they moved here to phoenix, they took a flat bed truck and decorated it with lights, play Christmas music, and of course a Santa. Then they drive this float all around to the poorer neighborhoods and hand out little bags of candy. This year, John was the Santa, and with some help from donators from work he was able to pass out stuffed animals as well.
The look on the children's faces when they received that little toy from Santa, were absolutely wonderful. There is nothing truly more amazing then bringing a smile to a child's face and some of the parents were also so grateful. We received so many thank yous. This one mother stands out the most to me ( and Beth too). She looked at us and said, " Thank you, thank you, my daughter just wrote a letter to Santa today." with the most sincere look on her face and tears in her eyes, Beth and I looked at each other and almost cried! It was very emotional and disheartening to see these families, and the way they were having to live. I believe I even saw a family sleeping in their car... I hope this tradition continues and continues to grow among our family. It truly is a blessing to be able to be apart of it and I am very grateful for that. Thank you John and Heather...
